I have very coarse and curly hair (obviously because i am half black lol), which flat iron would be best for my hair and what product do your recommend i use along with it to make it sleek and shiny? (something not expensive, please no racial insults i’ll delete the question), i dont want to get my hair relaxed because that really kills our hair) thanks in advance. My hair isn’t coarse, but I am also half black.. so as you know, I have thick, curly & I don’t know about you, but frizzy hair. My favorite flat iron is a T3, but its $150+USD. So, a cheaper option, and works just as well (I just prefer the T3 because its bigger) is the Sedu ($110). I didn’t want to believe the hype, but Folica had a sale so I got one & its great. I DEFINITELY recommend it.
Oh, and you also said something not too expensive. I don’t know if you meant for the product or straightener. If you don’t want to spend a lot on a straightener, buy a GVP ($60) from Sally Beauty Supply. It makes my hair pin straight. Need a cheaper option? I’d go with the brand Remington. I’ve used one of their straighteners for about two+ years until upgrading. They run from $25-40, but they’re good quality & get the job done.
As for heat protection product, I suggest John Frieda’s Frizz Ease Thermal Protection Serum. I love it; it works well + smells really good! The only problem is that they give you less than two ounces for $8. : I use A LOT of product, but I’m still on my first bottle (I barely straighten my hair though). Another good serum, which I have never used, is Chi Silk Infusion. People rave about this, but its more expensive at $14 for two ounces.. although I’ve heard a little really does go a long way. If serums aren’t your thing, I like Dove’s thermal protection mist (red spray bottle) or Tresemme Heat Tamer Spray (both $3).
Whatever people say, don’t get a Chi, they suck. Well, not really. They’ll get your hair straight, but the next day your hair might be poof & it fries your hair as well, with or without heat protestant.
Hope I helped & good luck!
